About (me, and this site)

My tattoo

I’m a bookworm and I have eclectic taste—my reading trajectory is sometimes focused (reading everything I can find by an author, or on a topic) and sometimes resembles an aimless interweb dive.

I have worked as a general trade editor in the Australian publishing industry. I have proofread and edited all manner of books from secondary and tertiary education text books, to general fiction, coffee-table books, legal annotations and court reporting, to academic research reports and PhD theses. I have ghost-written, and I have written technical configuration manuals for custom software systems, as well as basic end-user guides, marketing copy, web content, and training manuals. I have been a (software design) business analyst, and a user experience designer, and an agile (software) project manager, and an agile (software) product owner.

Reading and writing—enjoying and crafting language—is what I do for fun and extensively in my work. And I have done it in Sydney, Montreal, New York, Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and San Francisco. I’m now back in my native Sydney, and I love it here.

I’ve made this site so that I can self-publish my pieces of writing (essays, blog posts, flash fiction, articles and interviews) that don’t necessarily end up elsewhere.
